FormulaK8 started when founder Katie, pregnant with her son in BC's Okanagan Valley, began really reading labels and didn't like what she found. She made her own alternatives — baby wipes first, then body butters — and a belief took hold: clean wellness shouldn't be a luxury.
The brand's defining chapter came later, when Katie's mother was left on strong prescription medication after spinal surgery. Katie researched botanical analgesics and topical delivery, formulated salves and gels, and watched her mother reduce her reliance on the medication.
